SoléAna Stables is a nonprofit that offers equine-assisted services as a unique therapeutic option to active-duty military, veterans, and individuals with disabilities who are seeking to reach their fullest potential. Our services help individuals strengthen their emotional, physical, and cognitive skills, while plugging into an inclusive community and finding joy.

Our organization was founded by a family that understands firsthand the needs of our military community and individuals with disabilities. Co-founders Sasha and Andrew Camacho are a military family, whose youngest daughter was born with Down syndrome. Throughout the years, they have seen the transformative power horses have. The staff and volunteers at SoléAna Stables listen to participants’ needs with open hearts and compassion, and offer a safe place for them to meet their challenges head on. Our Horses for Heroes Program is led by dedicated and experienced instructors, including former military and military spouses, who can empathize with participants in the program. Through years of receiving equine education, holding leadership positions, and working with horses, our instructors understand the best way horses can transform the lives of our participants. SoléAna Stables has a commitment to excellence and is the only PATH International Member Center that serves both individuals with disabilities and military/veterans south of Houston.

South Houston American Legion Post 490's mission is in line with the American Legion’s Four Pillars: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. Each of these encompasses a variety of programs that benefit our nation's veterans, its service members, their families, the youth of America and ordinary citizens. Post 490 is conveniently located across the street from Ellington Airport - a host to military and civilian aviation operations.

The Birthday Joy Program’s mission is to encourage a sense of self-worth and a feeling of hope to children living in crisis through the joy of birthday celebrations.   We offer birthday assistance to families, partner with social service agencies and schools to celebrate their clients, and throw birthday parties in local shelters.
